Fascinating Grappelli

Fascinating Grappelli

The Fascinating Grappelli trio is a trio made up of Olivier Leclerc on violin, Jean-Baptiste Gaudray on guitar and Basile Mouton on double bass. In the first album (feat. Zacharie Abraham) he pays a wonderful tribute to the various trios that Stéphane Grappelli was so fond of from the 70s. To the covers taken from the repertoire of the immense Stéphane, Fascinating Grappelli adds original compositions including the one, Flowers, is a nod to the flowered shirts that this exceptional improviser wore on all stages of the world.

With this project and this album, the voluntary heirs that are the Fascinating Grappelli achieve a formidable double blow: share with the listener the "spirit" of the incomparable instrumentalist and, without losing fidelity, open and develop the seeds of the legacy towards new musical horizons.

This group has toured numerous national and international stages: Eaubonne Jazz, Colombe Jazz, Jazz in Giel, Fest'jazz, Jazz à Clamart, Armada de Rouen, Cléon, Rognac, Montmagny, Enghien-les-Bains, Servaville-Salmonville, Le Havre, Le Château Hôtel Tiara Mont Royal, Quebec, Germany...

A new album is in preparation, to be discovered soon...
