Martha Fields Band
I have been accompanying Texan singer/songwriter Martha Fields and her band across Europe since 2016.
The rest of the team is made up of extraordinary musicians : Manu Bertrand (dobro, banjo, mandolin, pedal steel), Urbain Lambert (guitar), Serge Samyn (double bass) and Denis Bielsa (drums). The group's collective experience amounts to thousands of concerts and studio sessions in the USA and Europe.
I have recorded three albums with the Martha Fields Band, and we are currently preparing the 4th… Looking forward to letting you discover it!
Manu Bertrand is a multi-instrumentalist musician specializing in American music.
For more than twenty-five years, he has put his musical universe at the service of numerous artists such as Martha Fields, Gildas Arzel, Shaka Ponk, Tom Frager, Valentine Lambert, Dick Rivers, Eric Bibb and Jean-Jacques Milteau.
Dobro, banjo, mandolin, electric and acoustic guitar, pedal steel guitar and lap steel are all strings to his bow. A completely self-taught musician equally at ease in the studio as well as live, Manu Bertrand particularly enjoys creating bridges between traditional and modern music, between musical styles or even between artists from different backgrounds.
The double bass produces the pulse, the harmony and the rhythmic basis of the trio. Bassist of the Texas group Martha and the House of Twang, he also joins Martha in this acoustic trio. Bass player in several jazz and blues groups, he has accompanied prestigious jazz musicians : the violinist Didier Lockwood, the trombonist Phil Abraham, the saxophonist and trumpeter Bradley WHEELER. Previously, he was bassist for the big band JFC and accompanied bluesman Terry Brisack. He contributed to the recording of several albums : ''Made in JFC'' 'Explosion'' 'Mosquito' Coast', 'Long Way from Home' (Texas Martha and the House of Twang).
The very gifted Texan singer/songwriter Martha Fields and her band have been touring across Europe since 2017 (festivals).
Martha Fields announces her new CD, "Southern White Lies" of which she wrote the majority of the songs, a true mix of "Americana" - folk, country, blues and bluegrass. Placed #2 CD of the year on the Euro Americana CHART, this new album receives exceptional reviews.
Drummer and drum teacher, known as Lapinou, Denis Bielsa accompanies American singer Martha Fields in France and Europe. He also accompanies the famous group "Collectif métissé" with whom he gives numerous concerts (Olympia, Zéniths, festivals).
